Brass tubes combine the workability of copper with enhanced strength and corrosion resistance from zinc alloying. They are the preferred choice for heat exchanger tubing, condenser tubes, and decorative applications.

Brass Alloy Compositions

63/37 Brass (CuZn37) — general purpose, good machinability. 70/30 Brass (CuZn30) — cartridge brass, excellent deep drawing. Admiralty Brass (CuZn28Sn1) — enhanced seawater corrosion resistance for condenser service. Aluminium Brass (CuZn20Al2) — superior resistance to impingement attack in fast-flowing seawater.

Manufacturing & Tolerances

Produced by extrusion or drawing to tight dimensional tolerances. Available as straight lengths up to 6 meters and coils for small OD tubes. Wall thickness uniformity controlled to ±10% of nominal.

Heat Exchanger Applications

Admiralty and Aluminium Brass tubes are specifically designed for shell-and-tube heat exchangers, surface condensers, and evaporators in power plants, refineries, and desalination plants where seawater or brackish water is the cooling medium.

Standards

Manufactured to BS EN 12449, ASTM B111 (heat exchanger), ASTM B135 (seamless), and IS 410 standards. Third-party testing including hydrostatic, eddy current, and flattening tests available.
